All social housing in the Braintree District is advertised through a system called Gateway to Homechoice (Choice Based Lettings).  This system is operated by Braintree District Council in partnership with six other councils.  Applicants can see details of all vacancies each week and apply for specific properties.

Register for Housing

• Online - Visit the Gateway to Homechoice website.  It takes about 30 minutes to complete the registration. If you do not have access to a computer, you can visit your local library or Greenfields local area offices to access computers on line.
• Phone - You can contact Braintree District Council's Customer Service Team on (01376) 552525.  They will arrange for someone to call you back and take your application.
• Appointment -  to book an appointment at the Council Offices at Causeway House, Braintree, Essex CM7 9HB please phone (01376) 552525 where they will help you with your application.

Once your application has been accepted by Braintree District Council, you can search for available homes via the Choice Based Lettings scheme.
