Aids and Adaptations Service

Ramped Access to front of property

Adapatations are permanent changes to your home which enable you to access the essential facilities within it, such as bedroom, bathroom, lounge, kitchen and the garden. This should increase your safety and independence in your home.

The service is recognised as being a great benefit for tenants who become less able but wish to retain their independence.

Adaptations range from minor adaptations, such as grab rails and lever taps, to major adaptations, which are larger scale alterations to the property.

Targets and Timescales

Once the assessment has been carried out and we have received any recommendations from the Occupational Therapist:

· We aim to complete all minor adaptations within 20 working days.

· We aim to complete all major adaptations within 10 weeks, unless the work is of a non-standard nature and requires any additional visits by our Adaptations Supervisor or a specialist consultant.

Service Standards

· We will deal with your request quickly, politely and accurately

· We will ensure that you and your home are treated with care and respect at all times

· We will ensure that the work is carried out on time, to a high standard and to your satisfaction

· We will investigate any formal complaint and give you a response by letter within 10 working days

We will take account of any comments we receive in client satisfaction questionnaires or through other consultations with our residents
