Community Options Studies are happening all around the district. They enable communities (including non-Greenfields residents) to decide on issues that are important to them in their area. There are several stages:
1) You are encouraged to come along to informal meetings to learn more about the process and to form a Group to take ownership of the Options Study
2) A questionnaire is designed to find out what you like and dislike about your area
3) The questionnaires that are returned are looked at by Greenfields and the Group to see what changes you want in your area. The Group will then set about trying to make the changes happen by working closely with the local authorities
There are currently two Options Studies taking place in Halstead. One on the Parkfields Estate and the other in Castle Hedingham.
Parkfields Action Group
The activities of the Parkfields Action Group continue to benefit the local residents, with lots of visible changes to the area. The Group have influenced the citing of bus shelters, including the new one at the junction of Tweed Close and Conies Road. Other improvements are the litter and dog bins, which have been requested through Halstead Area Forum.
One of the exciting ongoing projects is the creation of a new Community Facility in the Parkfields area. Local residents have had the opportunity, by completing a questionnaire, to decide on the type of facility which meets their needs. Another improvement includes landscaping at Lock Road and Ronald Road junction.
The Parkfields Action Plan is now available in hard copy by contacting the Greenfields Gateway Advisor below.
Castle Hedingham Option Study Group
A third of all residents completed a questionnaire to voice their views on their area. The results are due to be fed back to the local community at the Feedback Event on Saturday 27th March at the Memorial Hall, Castle Hedingham, between 10am and 12.00pm.
We will support local residents to identify the issues and help them to create a solution-driven Action Plan to improve the community.
