From raffling off unwanted Christmas gifts, to the steeper challenge of running a marathon, our staff, residents, Board members and partners have so far raised a fantastic £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, our Charity of the Year!

On 10 Sunday September, staff members Paul Chadwick, Lee Crowdell and Natalie Cook are running the New Forest Marathon. They’ve raised £220 and would love to receive more donations. Donate by visiting their Just Giving page or texting 70070 and sending the message GFLD77 followed by £ and the amount you wish to give.

And on Friday 29 September, we’re hosting a Great Greenfields Bake Off at Greenfields House as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan. We will be selling cakes & sweet treats all morning; as well as holding some competitions, such as ‘Rate the Cake’ (move over, Paul Hollywood). Anyone is welcome to pop in for a baked good or two, and all donations to Macmillan are welcome.

We’ve also raised money through Dress Down Days, a golf day and games like ‘guess the name of the Easter bunny’. A range of community events with our residents and partners, including July’s Fit and Fun Fest in Witham, have raised further funds.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support; and push for better cancer care.
