Proposed merger with Colne Housing: have your say!

Proposed merger with Colne Housing: have your say!
10th February 2020 James Calnan

Greenfields Community Housing is exploring merging with another local housing association Colne Housing, based in Colchester.

We believe our combined strength would allow us to sustain investment in existing homes, build new ones, improve services and empower residents to have more of a say in what we do.

A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes since we announced our proposed partnership last summer.

Now our Boards want to know what residents think before they make a final decision on whether to merge or not.

A resident consultation runs from 10 February to 22 March. To have your say, please read the following guide before filling in the short form below.

You are also invited to our consultation events:

February 27, 1-3pm: United Reformed Church, Newland Street, Witham CM8 1AH

March 3, 2-3pm: Greenfields House, Charter Way, Braintree CM77 8FG

March 4, 11am-1pm: St Andrews Church Hall, Parsonage Street, Halstead, CO9 2LD

How would you describe us?
We’re proposing to create a merged organisation with a new identity. We want your help to create this, and there are two ways you can get involved.

  1. Please take part in a short survey to let us know what you think about Greenfields and what the proposed new organisation new identity should look and feel like. This survey is completely anonymous. Please fill it in by clicking here by Friday 28 February.
  1. We are hosting two workshops for residents to get more involved in this work. They take place at Greenfields House in Braintree on Monday, 17 February at 2pm and at Colne Housing’s offices at the Knowledge Gateway at the University of Essex on Thursday, 20 February at 4.30pm.

There are limited spaces at these workshops, so if you would like to attend one, please email James Calnan with your preferred location or call 01376 535400 to register your interest. We will let you know if a place is available for you.
