Neighbours old and new got to know each other at an Easter Tea Party to celebrate the completion of five new social rent homes in Braintree.

Montgomery Mews, off Arnhem Grove, is a five-bungalow social housing development which replaces a garage site. Greenfields Community Housing staff welcomed both Arnhem Grove and Montgomery Mews residents with Afternoon Tea, to bring the community together.

Emma Palmer, Greenfields’ Chief Executive, said: “It’s very important to us that our residents live in homes that are affordable, comfortable and help to form vibrant and cohesive communities. We’ve built these bungalows for social rent and will continue to create homes across the region that are a mixture of social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership.”

Local councillors, partners on the project, including The Design Partnership, and Greenfields’ volunteers also came to mark the unveiling of the modern new homes.

Since 2011 we’ve developed nearly 600 homes in areas including Witham, Colchester and Sudbury, and aim to own and manage 9,000 by 2020. See more about current and completed developments here: New homes
