Would-be entrepreneurs explored the world of self-employment at a free workshop hosted by Greenfields.
Organised by Clarion Futures, the empowering session at Greenfields House on 3 December gave nine Braintree district residents the opportunity to get help and advice on becoming self-employed or starting up their own business.
James Taylor, Greenfields’ Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator, attended the workshop as he is looking to set up his business and described it as “brilliant.”
He said: “It really got us thinking about how you would set up a business and get your ideas to market; preparing us for self-employment. You begin with market research, see what the competition is like, look at what you’re selling, and what skills, experience, qualities and equipment you may need.
“It also encourages us to think about how to target customers, unique-selling points, geographical reach and more! The principles can be applied to any business.”
Attendees are also offered follow-up support from Clarion Futures, part of Clarion Housing Group. James added: “The workshop was nicely structured and delivered really well.”
