Area Forum Committee
Our Area Forums are groups of residents who work together to improve their town and surrounding villages through leading on changes – big or small – that can make a huge difference to peoples’ lives. To find out more about our Area Forums, please read the information below.
What is an Area Forum Committee?
There are three Area Forums Committees: Braintree, Witham and Halstead. Being a member of a Forum Committee gives you a voice on issues which affect your communities. Each Committee has an opportunity to identify improvements needed in your local area – with other residents’ input – and they have a budget to enable these improvements to happen.
They can include:
- Parking projects
- New benches
- New bins
- Clearer signage
- Improvements to lighting.
Open meetings are held in our communities each year, which provide an opportunity for residents to come along and suggest future projects.
The next open meetings are:
- Braintree – to be arranged.
- Witham – 2:30 – 4:30 pm on Tuesday 12 December 2017 at the United Reformed Church, Newland Street, Witham.
- Halstead – to be arranged.
As a Forum Committee Member, you can also be involved in other activities. These include:
- A residents’ social afternoon at Greenfields House, Braintree, every third Thursday of the month
- Providing support to Community Voices
- Monitoring our Local Offers.

What is a Community Gateway Association?
We give our residents the chance to be actively involved with Greenfields and have a say on how things are done. We provide additional opportunities and resources to our residents, beyond the development and maintenance of their homes. Click the button below to learn more.
