Bunches of beautiful blooms and birthday cards fill Hannah’s home, from family and friends keen to celebrate her milestone birthday with her.

Hannah celebrated her birthday week with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, including a dinner at The Lion in Finchingfield and an afternoon tea party at her home on her 100th  birthday. Her face lights up when she shows us her personalised birthday message from the Queen and an authenticated copy of The Times from her birth date – a special present from one of her children.

Hannah loves her Greenfields bungalow and tells us: “There’s not a thing in the world I would want.”

When asked her secret to her long life, she tells us that it’s just getting on and doing things, rather than procrastinating, as well as regular Chinese and Indian takeaways and a cup of tea. Sounds like good advice to us!
