Chocolate snowmen, books on meditation and a beer boot drinking game are among the 100 unwanted Christmas gifts given to Farleigh Hospice by Greenfields staff.
The hospice, based in Chelmsford, was chosen as Greenfields’ Charity of the Year by our staff and volunteers. The gifts collected have been given to Farleigh Hospice to help raise funds.
Grace Sullivan, Corporate Fundraiser at Farleigh Hospice, said: “Everyone at Farleigh is delighted that Greenfields have chosen the hospice as their charity of the year and for the success of our first event together. 100 is a fantastic number!
Every penny raised will make a huge difference to those facing life-limiting illnesses. All of Farleigh Hospices services are free of charge and without the generosity of the local community we would not be able to care for nearly 4,000 people every year, help carers and families, offer bereavement support and continue to be an integral part of the local community.”
Staff and residents aim to raise thousands of pounds for the hospice through a range of initiatives, include sports challenges, bake sales, community events and casual dress days. Last year, they raised more than £5,300 for mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind.
