Two Greenfields staff members raced past their fundraising target of £500 for a Mental Health Awareness charity by completing a 31-mile Ultra Marathon on Saturday and raising £575, so far.
Natalie Williamson, Business Assurance and Compliance Manager and Debbie Mitchell, Assistant Project Manager, were both bitten by the running bug after participating in a Greenfields running programme in 2015, and they have since progressed to running marathons, including the New Forest Marathon and Brighton Marathon.
Natalie said: “The course in Stour Valley was very hilly, and we had to navigate flooded areas, styles, kissing gates and 95% uneven ground. We finished in the dark wearing head torches 8 hours, 16 minutes and 11 seconds later, and are both feeling broken but very proud. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported us.”
The energetic pair are raising money for Greenfields’ Charity of the Year, Mid and North East Essex Mind. You can sponsor them by visiting https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GreenfieldsCH
