Supporting your health

Health and Wellbeing

Our health and wellbeing service aims to encourage and support our residents, and the wider community, to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Covid 19 Update

We’re continuing to provide support services to our residents remotely. Where necessary, we will carry out essential visits, ensuring that we follow Government guidelines for social distancing and PPE. If you feel you require support, please contact us.

Supporting you to lead a healthy and happy life

Here are some of the support services you can access:

Chair-based exercise

Chair-based exercise classes are primarily for people with mobility issues and long-term health conditions, but they are also open to anyone over the age of 18.

They can improve mobility and prevent falls, as well as encouraging social interaction.  Our classes are currently suspended but virtual classes will be coming soon.  In the meantime, please take a look at our video demonstrating the exercise here, or our leaflet below, and contact us if you would like to sign up. We can also offer support over the phone on ways to help you stay active.

Livewell from your Chair - FINAL

We’re looking for volunteers to join our team of chair-based exercise leaders; who teach classes in several venues across the district. Your training will involve learning how to lead the class by delivering 22 prescribed moderate exercises.  To find out more, please click on this link: Wanted: volunteers to lead life-changing exercise classes
