Our weekly Job Club is held by our financial support co-ordinator, who can help increase your skills towards finding employment, tackle fuel poverty, learn budgeting skills and much more.

Job Club

Every Wednesday from 10am to 12noon, Greenfields House, Charter Way, Braintree, CM77 8FG

If you’re a Greenfields resident looking for work, then drop into our weekly Job Club!

We offer help with CV-writing and application completion, and advice on interview techniques and using Universal Jobmatch. Attendees can also use the time to search for jobs on the free computers available.

Emma Faulkner, Greenfields’ Financial Support Co-ordinator, said: “We’re keen to help our unemployed residents fulfil their potential and learn any skills required to find a suitable role. More and more unemployed residents are now moving onto Universal Credit, and it’s important that they’re actively seeking employment. We hope that we can help them to find the job that’s right for them.”

Help with your finances

If you’re struggling to make ends meet, please don’t despair: there is support out there. Whether you require education, advice or savings on your energy bills, we hope the information below will be of use.

Hardship Fund

Greenfields offers a Hardship Fund, which offers one-off purchases of much-needed items such as white goods and carpets and travel expenses or clothes for a job interview.

The grants will only be awarded in certain circumstances, and successful applicants must engage with a Greenfields officer. For example, a grant have been awarded to a large family whose cooker had broken down and could not afford to replace it. New carpets have been given to a resident who had just moved into a first floor flat, was struggling to make ends meet and did not want to disturb their ground floor neighbours.

Successful applicants will receive the goods or vouchers. The fund does not award money or support for ongoing costs like fuel bills and other charges.
