Servicing and inspections

We are required to carry out services and inspections within your home to help to ensure your health and safety.

Types of servicing and inspection

Electrical safety inspection

We carry out inspections of electrical installations in all our properties every five years, in accordance with the recommendations provided by the Electrical Safety Council for rented properties. This ensures they continue to be in a safe and serviceable condition.

Gas servicing

We have a legal duty to arrange for an annual Gas Safety Check to be carried out by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer in all our properties. Our policies and procedures are very comprehensive, which also ensures you receive an excellent standard of servicing and repairs.

Oil servicing

Having your oil-fired boiler serviced regularly can keep it operating at its most efficient and reduce fuel bills. It is recommended that oil-fired appliances and equipment are serviced at least once a year or as recommended by the manufacturer. Appliances should be inspected and cleaned, and components replaced, as required, during the service. If your boiler is not serviced annually it is at higher risk of breaking down.

Arranging the visits

Gas and oil servicing

PH Jones will contact you two months before your gas certificate expires and offer you an appointment.

You can use the PH Jones online portal for rearranging your appointment date if the date you have been given is not suitable. You will be able to select a new date, provided that this does not go beyond the date of your current gas service.

Electrical safety inspection

Pilon will contact you when your home requires an inspection and offer you an appointment.

If the appointments slots offered aren’t convenient, please contact the relevant company to rearrange. Appointment slots are available between the following days and times:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
Saturday morning, 9am to 1pm

Please be aware that failure to make an appointment will result in court action being taken to obtain an injunction for access.
